December 12 -- At night, under the New Moon, a gathering takes places at the old Benton Kirk. A few bodies have been unearthed and displayed around the yard. An old and filthy looking priest arrives, speaks with everyone, baptizes a cat and departs. When followed he enters the swamps to the south.
December 15 -- The party arrives at Lamert regions. They visit Steinfeld Abbey, now turned into a monastery. They are welcomed by the current matron of the orphanage Elizabeth Steinfeld.
December 16-18 -- The Abbey's story is revealed:
December 18 -- The old church at Benton Kirk is searched at night. In the canon's office the following painting is found:
Behind it, on the wall, there is a large ink stain.

- The abbey is haunted by the ghost of its previous matron (Emily Cosworth).
- She asked the help a witch to find the treasure hidden in the abbey, and after betraying her she delivered her to the local justice.
- The witch died but cursed Emily.
- Emilywas violently slain by the possessed orphans and since then haunts the abbey until she reveals the true story and breaks the curse.
- Her servant (Albert Carlston) has kept her scrapbook, containing all clues to the treasure and tries to locate it.
December 18 -- The old church at Benton Kirk is searched at night. In the canon's office the following painting is found:
