The details of the expedition were recorded in two official documents. The Treaty of Falkirk, between Ygdree and Fynn, and The royal letter of Marque to the the Expedition's Captain General.
Points of the Treaty of Falkirk:
1. The Crowns of Ygdree and Fynn and the Parliament of Ygdree will jointly control any lands discovered to the north of the 70th line parallel, unless such lands are found to be ruled by a Sovereign faithful to the church of Thelema.
2. The two countries will equally share between them any trading of goods that results from the survey expedition of 1402. Internal distribution of trade rights for each country will be ruled according to the laws of each country.
3. Each country will secure each claim upon its trade rights by contributing , arming and supplying one vessel to the expedition. The captain of the Royal Navy of Ygdree will be Master and Captain General of the expedition of 1402.
Points of the Royal Letter of Marque:
1. The Crown will cover the expenses for outfitting the vessel and the Admiralty will provide a crew of two shifts and a regiment of Marines. This will grant the crown the right to 50% of Ygdree’s share in any trading activity that results from the expedition for a period of 20 years.
2. The Supplying of the vessel and the coverage of the initial trading costs, calculated at the amount of 50,000 pounds will be covered by private funds, with priority given first to members of the expedition that are citizens of Ygdree and then to members of the Parliament of Ygdree. Private contributions will grant the right to an equal part of the remaining 50% of Ygdree’s share in any trading activity that results from the expedition for a period of 20 years.
3. The Vessel will be commanded by a Master and Commander as defined by the rules of conduct of the Amdiralty at all times and under all circumstances.
4. Any information that occurs from the expedition north of the 70th parallel will belong to the Crown and Admiralty of Ygdree and any mishandling of such items will be considered and act of treason to the Crown.

The Expedition was planned and arranged and the ship departed Fallkirk bound towards the northern island of Larkhall where they would be able to buy resources. Such an early departure was deemed necessary to avoid possible threats from national navies that might try to inhibit the expedition.
In Larkhall the Ygdrian ship was united with the ship from Fynn.
